Are we making progress on sustainable development in Scotland?
Work on SDC Scotland's 3rd Assessment of Government starts this summer, and the report will be published in late November. We will be revisiting the recommendations made in the 2nd Assessment published in November 2008, but also look at new areas of concern.

The SDC Scotland secretariat team has taken on several new projects in the last year and now counts five project workers alongside the core staff of four.

Is transport policy moving?
SDC Scotland has identified a number of issues that it wants to discuss in more detail with Government, so that it can assess whether transport policy is heading in the right direction.

A Good Corporate Citizenship Assessment Model for the NHS Scotland
How can the NHS in Scotland better contribute to sustainable development? That is the question a new SDC project aims to answer. Together with Health Facilities Scotland, SDC Scotland will be testing a new toolkit for sustainable development in the NHS. NHS Grampian and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde have signed up to testing the scheme.

Ambitious Climate Change Delivery Plan launched
The Scottish Government has launched its Climate Change Delivery Plan focusing on green technology to transform Scotland into a low carbon economy. But to meet the emission reduction targets Government must persuade Scots to change their lifestyle.

Government failing own emission targets
The Scottish Government's Environmental Performance Report 2007/08 shows increase in CO2 emissions from Government buildings and travel. SDC Scotland welcomes the report but is concerned that Government is not going to meet its own targets for cutting emissions.

Scotland's top 50 sustainable development champions have been named by the Scottish Sustainable Development Forum. The 50, chosen from over 300 nominations, inspire action through a vast range of projects for a greener Scotland.
