Summary:imageThe Sustainable Development in Government Report (SDiG) 2007 assesses the performance of central government operations against the targets set out in the Framework for Sustainable Operations on the Government Estate (SOGE). The aim of the assessment is to inform and inspire continuous improvements on sustainable development performance across government.

The assessment, which is the sixth undertaken by the SDC, is based on the analysis of data submitted by Government departments for the period of 2006/07. Our analysis shows that individual departments are still not on track to meet all their SOGE targets – particularly on carbon emissions from offices and road vehicles – although government as a whole is generally performing better this year compared with the last.
