| Summary: |  This memorandum provides both an overview of recent UK performance on sustainable development, and highlights some particular conclusions about current UK performance, which we have drawn from our work to date. Our overall conclusion is that the UK has undertaken many worthwhile initiatives over the last few years, especially through the development of institutions and systems to promote sustainable development. However, we are as yet nowhere near the kind of structural and policy changes that will need to be made to the economy and to society to deliver sustainable outcomes. |
