Summary: | In its role as independent sustainable development watchdog, the SDC has conducted its first assessment of Government Department's/Agencies' Sustainable Development Action Plans (SDAPs). The report sets out the SDC's assessment of performance across government as well as individual assessments for each department/agency. All central government departments are required to produce an SDAP as part of the UK government's sustainable development strategy, Securing the Future. Future SDAP assessments will be used to inform our Watchdog activities, including the SDC's in-depth reviews of policy implementation and delivery of public services. In this report, the SDC has categorised all departments according to the degree to which they displayed the key elements expected in the first year of an SDAP. |
