Summary: | The SDC believes that the UK Government can and should set the economy on a clear and unambiguous low-carbon trajectory, a move which would enhance competitiveness and satisfy the demand of UK plc for energy services. Whilst the right blend of energy policies are crucial to this aim, the SDC believes that the benefits of a low-carbon economy can best be realised by developing these policies within a framework of sustainable development. This response constitutes our case for the Government’s forthcoming Energy White Paper to consist of proposals for a sustainable energy policy. |
